You Can Definitely Live Off the Grid in FLORIDA.
Florida is probably the best place to live off the grid. There is plenty of sunshine to power solar panels, yet there is plenty of rainfall too to grow gardens. There is a large underground fresh water aquifer that runs the length of the whole state of Florida that can easily be tapped in addition to many fresh springs. With abundant lakes and rivers and a warm water coastline that is longer than California there is plenty of fishing and also places to dock and live on a boat. Rarely does it ever freeze in Florida so dealing with snow or a harsh winter is never a problem in Florida.

Lauderdale-by-the-sea: the shore dive capital of South Florida. One of the best shore snorkeling and diving places in Florida is near the end of the Anglin’s pier (the south side). We usually go to get this reef from Datura ave (one block south off Commercial blvd.) Stay 300 feet away from the pier. This reef has plenty of fish: Black Margate, Spadefish, various Snapper, Angelfish, Damsels, Wrasses, Parrotfish, Nurse Sharks, Butterflyfish, Sergeant Majors, Sea Turtle, Cuttlefish, Barracuda, Trumpet Fish, French Angels, Blue Angels,Doctorfish, Blue Headed Wrasse, Tarpon.etc. Also there are couple of artificial coral reefs – just go little south from end of the pier. Please, don’t fish! If you have mask and snorkel it’s good enough to just observe the beautiful wildlife on the reef and don’t touch anything!

Every summer on a calm day my friends and I love to paddle out to Alligator reef 4 miles off the coast of Islamorada. This is one of all time favorite paddles to do. You never know what types of wild life you see. On this trip we saw huge nurse sharks, sea stars, sting rays and plenty of fish. 💖

Plenty of action in a single afternoon. Before the big schools of fish started coming in, every tourist would ask me the same question: “Caught any?”

“You,” I told a tourist. “I caught you on camera.”

I was hoping I could charge a dollar for each time I got asked.

This video is worth each penny that they didn’t pay.
